PXC 28

If you're female, you most likely will not know what that means. Last Saturday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig, we watched the PXC (Pacific X-treme Combat) 28, a Mixed Martial Arts event featuring different MMA fighters across the Philippines, USA and Asia, with Tristan Arenal and John Tuck being the main fight. They also highlighted Brandon Vera as their guest fighter.

You can probably guess why I was there (read: the BF). Lou (my brother's GF) and I were initially reluctant to pay 670 pesos for our seats, but as the night progressed:

First two fights...jaws dropping, cringing with every blood-drawing attack.

Third fight... "What move is that?", learning, learning.

Sixth fight... "Good fight"

Ninth fight..."Whoa! Ang galing!"

Main Event...."YEAH!"

Hahaha, so that's how we were converted to becoming MMA fans. Not completely sold yet though, I still don't want to watch it on TV, just live. I think it helps to actually learn the moves, so that you can appreciate how well the fighter managed to beat his opponent.

Another good thing, team Lakay hails out of Baguio, giving us an automatic choice in some fights as to who we support. Yeah, love your own, right.

All in all, the tickets were definitely worth it, and I like MMA better than boxing, I find it more interesting to watch. (sorry, boxing fans).

Excited for the next event in January 2012. :0
