Blog challenge Day 3: The farthest you've been from home

Okay, I failed at the everyday blogging part, but whatever, I'll still finish the thirty days of blogging.
Last year, I was very lucky to be given the chance to present a paper in an econometric confidence in London, UK! I would never have thought it possible that I would get to see any part of Europe for real. It's just too expensive. But, last year, God just gave me blessing upon blessing and this was one of the most memorable ones.

Inside the London Eye

Wonderful View!

My Mom, who was on summer break from teaching in the KSA, gladly booked a flight to meet me there. Aside from the conference and the London Eye, we were able to go to the Stonehenge, Buckingham Palace, Madame Tussaud's and shopping at Harrod's. I never really though about it, but I didn't expect the people in the U.K. to be so mixed, there were Europeans (of course), Asians, Africans, Americans, I even heard a group of Filipino kids talking while we were on the train. The City was always bustling with people and the the British people were very nice, they let you go about your business, but still courteous and willing to help at all times. Their transportation system was organized, very easy to commute (but, way expensive ^_^). I also adore the weather! Of course, if you live near the equator, any place that's not hot and humid would be refreshing place to be, plus, since it was July, daylight lasted until around 9:00 in the evening.

It was a simply wonderful experience, one that I know will probably not happen again anytime soon, so every moment was cherished.
