Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter

Just so we're clear, this is a beauty post. Sorry guys, it does say I like makeup on my description, right? Sometimes, I don't know why I'm so fascinated with makeup when I don't use it that much.
Since I started using makeup, around the time I started teaching, lipstick is the one thing I have always avoided. I can't seem to apply it correctly, it sinks into the lines of my lips (due to dryness?), it dries my lips out and the color never seems to last that long anyway. I only use lip balm on a daily basis. However, when I heard (I mean read) about this new product and how it has the effect of a lip moisturizer, I got curious enough to actually look for it in several department stores where I've seen revlon counters.
Emma Stone for Revlon
I finally found them in Watsons at SM North Edsa. Tried one on, then bought three. Haha.
Cute packaging!
Peach Parfait - Red Velvet - Berry Smoothie

Peach parfait is a sheer peach with golden glitter (not obvious when applied) that results in natural colored but shiny lips. Red velvet is, well, red. It has darker pigmentation and lasts longer than the other two. When applied on the lips, it's not as dark as the lipstick color seen here, nor the swatch seen below, but a sweet red with a slightly pinkish tinge. Berry smoothie, in my case, gives a 'my lips but better' effect. Subtle shine, subtle color and smooth finish.

Each color swatched three times
w/ flash - peach, berry, red
Do I like it? Yes, the colors are great on the lips and the pigmentation is light, allowing small mistakes that won't be too obvious. The texture is buttery and the finish is smooth, almost like lip balm. There's no chemical taste and there are a lot of colors to choose from. I also like the shape, it's easier to apply compared to bullet shaped lipsticks (this kind of reminds me of sephora)
What's not to like? Since it is a lip butter, it won't last very long; you definitely need to reapply after eating or talking a lot. For people who are into lipstick, I think a lot of the shades go on sheer, so you would need a couple more swipes to build the color
Overall, I like it enough to use on a daily basis. :)

How much to save? P525.00 per piece.

Note: all comments and descriptions pertain to application on myself, effect on you may be different.

Back to my engagement series soon!
